Attendance
ATTENDANCE AT DOVECOTE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Our Attendance Vision
At Dovecote, we believe that when children attend every day, they learn new things, feel safe, build friendships, try new experiences, and develop the confidence to achieve their goals and be their very best.
We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels a strong sense of belonging.
We want our pupils to understand the importance of good attendance.
When they come to our school every day, they will:
- Be ready to learn new things
- Be ready to make friends and work together
- Be ready to try new experiences and challenges
- Be ready to grow in confidence and independence
Be here, be ready and thrive!
REPORTING ABSENCE
It is the parents’/carers’ responsibility to let us know the reason for all absences. You may want to talk to the School Receptionist or may choose to leave a message on line 1. Please state the name of your child, class teacher or year group and reason for the absence.
Dovecote Primary School phone number 0115 9152953, option 1 for pupils and option 2 for staff.
We also need to know when you believe your child will return to school. This needs to be on the first day of absence, soon after 8.30 am.
Any absence which is known in advance should be notified to the school beforehand. If the school has not received notification of absence by 9.30 am on the first day of absence, we will contact you by text or phone call. This is to ensure the children’s safety.
You can contact our school office by telephoning us on 0115 9152953.
