At Dovecote Primary School, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to thrive.

We are a welcoming and inclusive school where children are known, valued and supported as individuals. We work together with our families and wider community to create a safe, positive environment where children can learn, grow and develop confidence in themselves and their abilities.

Our ethos is built around three core values:

Knowledge

We believe that knowledge opens doors.

Through an ambitious, engaging and inclusive curriculum, we help children build the knowledge and skills they need to understand the world around them and succeed in the future.

We encourage curiosity, independence and a love of learning. Children are supported to ask questions, explore ideas, challenge themselves and understand that making mistakes is an important part of learning.

Nurture

Children thrive when they feel safe, valued and understood.

Positive relationships are at the heart of Dovecote. We create an environment where children feel that they belong and where kindness, respect and inclusion are part of everyday school life.

We support children to develop confidence, resilience and independence, while recognising that every child is different and may need different things to help them succeed.

Enrichment

We want children to experience a world beyond the classroom.

Through trips, visitors, clubs, outdoor learning, creative opportunities and experiences within our wider community, we help children discover new interests, develop their talents and broaden their horizons.

These experiences are an important part of life at Dovecote and help create the memories, interests and aspirations that children take with them into the future.
