Our culinary experts produce a tasty and healthy menu for us. Each week giving us great tastes from around the world, along with traditional English meals.

Meals are prepared and served by our highly skilled and passionate kitchen support team and midday supervisor team to make dinnertime at Dovecote a fun and enjoyable time in a safe and hygienic environment.

School lunch is provided at a reasonable price. The money is collected on a Friday or Monday morning in advance.

These lunches are cooked on the premises and children have a choice of hot meals as well as a salad bar. Children with special dietary needs are noted and catered for.

Children may bring in a packed lunch from home.

YR/Y1 lunchtimes run from 11.45-12.45. They are provided with family service for their school lunch. Y2-Y6 lunchtime runs from 12.00-1.00. These children use self-service for their lunch.

The children get a choice of a main course and pudding. A salad bar is available as an alternative to the vegetables on offer.

Menus

The school operates one menu for all year groups. It is available to download by clicking the relevant buttons on this page. There are three menu patterns that change on a rolling programme indicated by the date of the week.

Dinner money

It is very important that you pre-pay and continue to keep your child's account topped-up! You have the flexibility to prepay for just one week, a lump sum, or each half-term.

If your child is absent from school, pre-paid balances are simply carried over, so you will never pay more than necessary.

We are now a cashless school, and so our preferred method is by on-line payment through the School Gateway system. 

School dinners currently cost £2.50 per day or £12.50 per week for Years 3, 4, 5, 6, and nursery children.

Dinners remain free for all children in Reception, Years 1 & 2.
